Bob’s Bio
Who is Bob Maunsell?
I was born in a small town.. John Mellencamp
I grew up in a small town in central Massachusetts with two very hard-working parents, two sisters and two brothers. My parents came here from County Kerry, Ireland with a hearty immigrant attitude that believed in hard-work and perseverance to get ahead in this great country. Because of this, they were able to invest their hard-earned money into real-estate and make a nice living for themselves in their golden-years. They also made sure their children were educated and taught us all that with hard work and determination you can do anything in this great country.

As a teen I enrolled in a trade school and studied Electrical Theory and Electronics. Then at 18, I joined the U.S. Air Force and spent three-and-a-half years in Tornado Alley (Wichita, Texas) dodging tornadoes. At the end of my duty there I was promoted to a Senior Airmen. I was then deployed into West Germany Ramstein Air Base, to be exact. At Ramstein, I was in a squadron which was called Prime Beef (the Air Forces equivalent to the Navys Sea-Bees) My military training was in electronic security, which included installing and maintaining the electronic security systems for Ramstein Air base and other air bases throughout Europe. I would install, troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electronic systems, such as, perimeter fence detection systems, microwave protection on the F-4 and F-16 aircraft’s, gate access systems, card access systems and CCTV systems.

The times at Ramstein that I really dug the most – okay, maybe second most because going to the Oktoberfest’s in Munich ranked way up there! – was when our Air Base was on full alert or when we would conduct joint NATO exercises for a two week stretch. During these exercises, we would have to perform our Special Operations wartime duty. For me and my squadron, this meant protecting and maintaining the runways and making sure they were operational 24/7. In full ZULU alert (sirens blaring), our main goal was to make sure the runways were safe and secure so that they could get the birds off the ground and into Eastern Block countries within 12 minutes flat. When I say flat, I mean, it! The Air Forces mission in Germany, at that time, was to wipe out and take down forward positions along the Eastern Block countries and to create havoc and bomb the heck out of any attacking country’s air base. Therefore, 12 minutes was not to a negotiable e number. We had to meet our mark!
I could go on and on about my time in Germany and the 2 week stints walking around the air base in our highly fashionable and very sweaty and uncomfortable CWPDS (Chemical Warfare Protective Dry Suits) and the endless drills for RRR (Rapid Runway Repair) and the times spent on leave in the German gasthauses and the very filling bratwurst and wiener schnitzel and I cant forget the incredible German frauleines! Oh, good ole days – but, there no where near as good as today!

After returning home from my five-year enlistment,I got my Electrical Journeymans License and then my Master Electricians License. I then worked for several years as a foreman for a large electric company that did large-scale electrical and cabling jobs. I missed doing security, but the pay was good and so I stayed on for 10 years. During this time, I met my lovely wife, Natasha, and we dated for several years before marrying. After 10 years as a foreman, I decided I would really love to get back into the security field so I gave my notice and opened my own company and the rest is history. I don’t want to leave out the best part! I married Natasha and we have two beautiful daughters, Bridget and Kiera, who make everyday a wonderful thing
