I want to share with you a pretty outrageous security business card that I found. Most security marketing pieces that cross my desk for a critique are rather dull, boring and quite uninspiring.

Stuck In The Middle With You
Most business folks (and people) like to live in the middle. The middle is safe and well within their security zone. Yet very little in the middle is memorable. The last thing you want to do, when it comes to marketing your security business and attracting new clients, is to be *BORING*.

Sticky Marketing
Stories and ideas that catch us off guard, show up where we didn’t expect them, make us sit-up and pay attention, even shock and awe us – that’s sticky marketing. Sticky stories and ideas are the ones that get advanced forward by your clients and prospects so that others find out about them.

Shock & Awe Business Card
The impressive multi-functional business card you will see belongs to “Melvin,” a hacker who decided some years ago to design a piece of business identification that was both appropriate and unique in his trade. He scored on both fronts, but most impressive is the card’s dual purpose: it provides contact info for his prospects and clients, plus the card can be easily dismantled – each individual tool can be popped out and detached – and cleverly used as a lock-picking kit. It’s a friggin’ great idea! Also check the business card that belongs to legendary hacker-turned-security consultant Kevin Mitnick. He actually commissioned the design as a direct result of seeing Melvin’s.

Does Your marketing material make others sit up and say “WOW”?

  2. Todd says:

You’re right Bob….this is a great idea and a really cool card…but…in Ca these could be dangerous to the holder…As lockpick devices are considered burglary tools.

  3. Hey Dan,

I’m glad your able to view the pictures, just let us know if you need anything else.

  4. Hey Todd,

Unless your a licensed locksmith in Massachusetts, this would be considered a burglary tool. These two guys created a wicked cool business card that really has that “shock and awe” effect for their niche market.
